Graduate Realtor Institute Image Graduate, REALTOR Institute (GRI)

The Graduate Realtor Institute designation, conferred by the National Association of Realtors, is presented to Realtors who have completed a comprehensive education program in residential real estate. The program's focus in on practical real estate training. Thus, the GRI program and designation encourages and recognizes the achievement of a higher, common body of knowledge among real estate professionals.

GRI covers Residential Finance, Legal Issues and Contracts; it also covers Property Appraisal, Marketing Techniques and Professional Standards, as well as Taxation, Investments, Property Management & Brokerage Management and Environmental Law.

Certified Residential Specialist Image Certified Residential Specialist (CRS)

The CRS designation assists the real estate professional in many areas of business. The two of the most popular courses, "Business Development for the Residential Specialist" and "Financial Skills for the Residential Specialist." The GRI designation is a prerequisite for the CRS.

To achieve the CRS designation, candidates are required to complete a series of classes and demonstrate expertise in applied residential marketing. Years of experience in real estate determine which course program should be followed.
